Why not come to the Houston Energy Healers Meetups? There you can
practice healing, share experiences, and receive guidance from more
experienced healers from a wide variety of energy healing
backgrounds.
I have no real
qualifications in the sense that I am hold no degrees or
certifications.
Healing is all about results. It doesn't matter what degrees or
certifications you have if the person does not get better. If they do
get better, then it doesn't matter either. <smile>
What do I need to
practice in the state of Texas? How does it work? Do I
have to be LMT to touch people at all in this
state?
You don't need a massage license to touch. Without a massage
license, though, you may not rub or press on the person. Merely
touching is OK.
However, it is not actually necessary to physically touch someone
to do a healing. That's why remote healing works so well.
I'm very confused
at the moment. Thanks so much in advance for any words you can
offer.
My best advice is to come to a Meetup, participate, and talk to
the healers there.
If you absolutely cannot come to our 3rd Monday night healing
sessions or the new 3rd Saturday afternoon healing sessions (starting
July 21), you should try to find another good healing group.
For example, you could take a Reiki class and/or attend Reiki
shares (gatherings where people practice Reiki and other forms of
healing). There are also Reiki meetups.
Reiki is just one energy healing method, but it is widely
available. There are Reiki teachers everywhere these days. Some belong
to this group.
Most of all, I must stress that however talented you may be,
healing is experiential. You need to practice on as many different
people as possible, and you need to experience healing by as many
people as possible. It's all about the energy--and you need
feedback.
One thing we stress is to protect yourself and the person you are
working on from unwanted energy transfer during healing. You *never*
want to take on their pain or illness (or other problems), and you
want to be careful not to transfer any of your issues to them. Also,
during a healing, both of you need protection from outside
influences.
You *never* want to use your own life energy for healing. If you
worked on a difficult case or on several people in a short time, that
would quickly deplete your life force and leave you vulnerable to
illness or accident.
You should always call upon Divine/Cosmic healing energy to flow
through you to the person being healed. There is an infinite supply of
healing energy in the Universe, and you receive a healing of sorts by
allowing it to flow through you. That allows you to do more healings
and help more people.
Maybe you already know those things. I don't know what you have
read. One of the values of working in a group is to *feel* what works
and what doesn't and to get unbiased feedback from other group members
on how they experience what you do.
You can learn a lot during the sharing of experiences after each
healing round. Our healers are from a variety of different background,
and each has much to contribute to the knowledge and experience that
we share.
Newcomers are always welcome. Lots of people have learned to do
healing in the group. Others use it as a place to practice what they
have learned in healing workshops or to meet like-minded people. And
all healers need to receive healing themselves sometimes.
We have a great time, and often some people go out to eat
afterward to continue talking.
I hope this helps.
