What is Johrei Healing?
Johrei (Jo-ray) is a means of transmitting healing light through the hands, developed in Japan during the 1930’s by the visionary artist, ecologist and innovator in spirituality and health, Mokichi Okada.
Mr. Okada called Johrei the “light of purification.” Johrei is based on the understanding that both physical and non-physical aspects exist in our lives, and that the non-physical aspects, our mind and spirit,
greatly influence our physical well-being. Johrei offers a simple technique that can be practiced at home to improve the spiritual, emotional and physical health of individuals. It reduces stress and brings peace of mind, helps restore inner and outer health, and awakens us to realize our individual purpose in
life.
Yoshi is the Managing Director / Director of Education for MOFA and U.S. Associate at the Planning Office, Sekai Kyusei Kyuo/Izunome, Atami, Japan. He is a third generation Johrei practitioner, having received Johrei as a child and studied it growing up in Japan. He lived in the U.S. from 1988-2007, as a teacher at Johns Hopkins University and NC Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC, then as a Johrei teacher and Center Head in the Washington, DC area. As coordinator of Johrei international research he worked with several Science Institutions around the country in documenting the effects of Johrei. An interview with Y. Kato is available at the Institute of Noetic Sciences website: http://www.noetic.org....
The M.Okada Foundation of America (MOFA) is part of an international movement founded in 1935 by the visionary Mokichi Okada. Okada’s vision embraced the establishment of Paradise on Earth, a world of health, prosperity and peace for all humanity. He taught that Johrei and the appreciation of beauty and art help reestablish balance, harmony and inner health, as well as preservation of our environment. Johrei is practiced by four million people in more than sixty countries around the world. For more
